This man was a FULL-TIME dairy farmer his entire life. That means he got up 4am or earlier every day, worked the morning milking and barn cleanup. After that would be the maintenance work on the farm equipment. ALSO, depending on the season, he would be plowing, planting, cultivating, or harvesting in the fields. From September through June, he somehow fit TWO SCHOOL BUS RUNS in before evening milking. AND, he drove school kids ON FIELD TRIPS all over the state of Maryland, including Annapolis. Even more frequently, AFTER the evening milking he drove the North Harford High School sports teams to their games and meets.
He did ALL of the above for 40+ years before retiring from just the bus driving part.
HE IS WHY my novel exists, I am familiar with Maryland history, and why this section is called FIELD TRIPS and why it is dedicated to him.
HAPPY FATHER’S DAY, DAD!
